Judo is an Olympic sport that is described as a form of Japanese wrestling. Throws, pins, chokes, and arm-locks form the core of Judo techniques, while strikes and kicks commonly found in most martial arts are not used in Judo. All ages can participate, and our classes are open to competitors as well as recreational players. Champion is one of the most actively competitive Judo clubs in Texas, and our program offers all levels of Judo students opportunities to participate. Champion students do not have to be serious competitors, but the opportunity is always there. Beginners will be able to compete in entry level developmental tournaments at our dojo, while the more experienced Judo students will be able to compete in tournaments throughout Texas, select out of state tournaments, and national tournaments.
